Michele’s “costumes”

Written by michele on September 12th, 2009

Well, my table full of stuff to pack in my transition bags is not remotely as organized as Katie’s in the pictures below, so I’m not going to bother with a picture!  But here are some pics of what I’ll be wearing tomorrow. Coming out of the swim, I’ll be carrying a red wetsuit, wearing navy blue swim top and black shorts. I may have black arm warmers on during the early portion of the bike, and might end up with a long-sleeve shirt or jacket later in the run, but otherwise this is what I’ll be wearing.

Another beautiful morning for a swim, or better yet, another beautiful morning to watch a swim. 51 degres, clear skys. Just wish there was a coffee stand down here.

IM village

Written by JeffC on September 10th, 2009

It was a fun filled day 1 at IM WI.  Not to mention exhausting, and I thought I was in shape.  That must be drinking shape.  Katie and I showed up at the swim about 7:30am. Michele and Bobby were all ready there all rubbered up and ready to go for a swim.  Once the fog burned off it turned out to be a very nice morning. Roy even managed to leave his group and come say hi.  The three of them did a down and back on the swim course and called it good.  Michele and Bobby took off for a little ride and run, and Katie and I went for a little walk until registration opened. Once done with registration Katie headed right for the shopping expo and the compression section. 2XU section to be exact. Funny thing, the woman working 2XU remembered us from Louisville and Wisconsin IM’s last year.  Katie did really well and only bought one pair of socks.  I think we managed to get out of there with our cheapest IM bill to date.  And just when I thought we were clear of the expo I turned around and Katie was sitting down at the Newton booth. So I sat down too and tried to order a pizza. No luck on the pizza, but Michele came to my rescue with some Breakfast Cookies. Thanks M!!   One new pair of shoes and we were out of there. Time for a nap!!  Very excited its IM time again.  The setting, energy…..we love it.  And I am looking forward to watching this year.  All you racers, you are amazing!!

Here’s some pics checking out the village set up.
